The Municipality of Salou has announced this Thursday the programming of the Nits Daurades 2023, the summer festivals that this year will be celebrated between August 5 and 16, a much longer day than usual. Altogether, 12 days of celebration with twenty events, all free of charge, which will focus on the artists and festive entities of Salou. Regular culture, magic, traditional music, rock or flamenco have a place in a program that includes a show by the Huge Acrobatic Circus of China or a tribute concert to Raffaella Carrà as certain highlights.
The sub-delegate of the Government in Tarragona, Santiago Castellà, was chosen this time to vocalize the opening proclamation (on the first day of the week, August 7, at the Patronat de Turisme).
The program will start a couple of days before, on Saturday August 5, with the fifth edition of the Batrobada, the approach of batucadas organized every summer by the Conjunto Atabaladors de Salou along the Jaume I route. The appointment will be at at 9:30 p.m., starting from the Font Lluminosa and ending in the Plaza de las Comunitats Autònomes, which will be the epicenter of the celebration for yet another year.
50 years of Font Lluminosa
This 2023, Salou commemorates the 50 years since the construction of one of the most unique elements of the council and symbol of its tourist transformation, the Font Lluminosa, the work of Carles Buïgas. To commemorate the anniversary, the Municipality has planned the concert A movie style – A bright night, on Sunday the 6th, within the framework of the Salou Festival Orchestra. The concert will consist of a compilation of the usual soundtracks, with Melani Mestre as conductor of the orchestra.
On August 7, after the proclamation and the fireworks to start the festivities, it will be the turn for magic made in Salou, run by Harry Merlin and Piper&friends. On the 8th there will be a concert of habaneras and on the 9th a family entertainment show (7:00 p.m.). During the night, the first concert of local artists will arrive, with the performance of Agustín Aspa and his ensemble Habana and Marcos San José.
Thursday is going to be rock & roll time, with recitals by the LA Vamps, the band of the artist from Salou, William Miller, alongside the Superatómica and Cocktail Trivutov ensembles. On Friday, August 11, the area of the Plaza de las Comunitats Autònomes will receive the show Hello Raffaela, which will review the enormous successes of Raffaella Carrà.
The last part of the celebration will start on Saturday with sardanas (8 pm), the Nit del Foc (9:30 pm) and the flamenco show by the Mónica Novillo company (11 pm). The day after, the Sal-i-Ou association is going to organize a festive Seguici with invited groups to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ball de Bastons de Salou. Meanwhile, Saik Promice, Aiem and Rosendo will star in the second night for local musicians. To close Sunday, the Plaza de las Comunitats Autònomes will become an 80s discoteca with the celebration Eighty! On the first day of the week, the 14th, there will be a Regular Cercavila with local entities and the show of the Huge Acrobatic Circus of China.
The big day of the Nits Daurades, on August 15, will take place the mass in honor of Santa Maria del Mar, the procession of the Virgin, from 9 pm, and the enormous fireworks display. To close, there will be a dance with the La Privada orchestra.

The Nits Daurades will not end this year with fireworks, since on Wednesday the 16th, the final fireworks of celebration will be put on by Los40, in their Summer Live twist. It will be a concert of enormous format that will be held in the center of the route, starting at 10 pm, with the participation of twelve artists: Álvaro de Luna, Álvaro Soler, Zzoilo, Marlon, Paula Cendejas, Mark Eme, Mar Lucas, Charlie USG, DePol, Adexe & Nau, Jose M. Duro, and Ramsés López.
The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has referred to the Nits Daurades as "the most essential festive leader in our territory" and highlights the enormous participation of the citizens of Salou, but also of the visitors who spend their holidays these days in the locality The mayor claims that this celebration "is a great opportunity to show all the talent we have"
For his part, the Councilor for Fiestas, Xavier Montalà, highlights that «in this edition we decided to change the activity of recent times and recover the essence of before. Hence, where before we found recitals, this year we will find shows ».
